The PHFI Institute of Public Health Sciences (PHFI–IPHS), Deemed to be University, is India’s premier institution dedicated exclusively to advancing education, research, and practice in public health notified under the Distinct Category of UGC (Deemed to be Universities) Regulations 2023.

Rooted in the distinguished legacy of the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), the University builds upon more than a decade of pioneering work carried out by the Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) established across the country. The Deemed University currently encompasses the campuses at Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Bhubaneswar, while PHFI’s other institutes — including IIPH Gandhinagar, IIPH Delhi, and IIPH Shillong — continue to strengthen the broader national public health network.

Deliverables:

The position is responsible for ensuring effective financial management, statutory compliance, and audit coordination of the organization. The role involves oversight of accounting operations, treasury management, and adherence to regulatory requirements including Income Tax, GST, and FCRA.

Achieve timely audits i.e. internal, external, grants audit, tax etc., on need based basis.
Maintenance of ERP based (Oracle) financial ledgers and accounting processes
Preparation of Monthly Consolidated P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement.
Cash management, treasury and Banking function.
Financial management of the assets of the organization including Fixed Assets and transactions related to capitalization of integrated assets.
Communicate with external stakeholders, including tax authorities and consultants, to address queries and resolve issues.
Ensuring that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained.
Timely Preparation, issuance, submission of various certificates and returns and payment of taxes under Income Tax, GST, Service Tax, FCRA.
Reconciles bank Accounts and Trial Balance on a monthly basis
Respond promptly to any communications or notices received from regulatory authorities regarding FCRA matters.
Prepare and submit FCRA returns and reports to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) as per prescribed formats and timelines.
Establish internal controls and procedures to monitor FCRA compliance across the organization.
Ensure all legal compliances.
Any other task assigned by the Supervisor/ Director- Finance.

Experience working in the public sector, non-profit organizations, or donor-funded institutions.
Familiarity with ERP-based accounting systems (preferably Oracle).
